Bull with no number on collar

Is this is the bull your looking for?

  1. Yes, that's the one. Great photo by the way! I would love to know which bull this is.
For instance, Fred's collar has a side that's really messed up, but on the other side, you can clearly see the 36. Any idea of what number this guy is? Aside from Fred, I've never seen another collared bull of this size.

  2. Steve, nice light and good close up. Man that was so much fun, I can't wait to do it again. I will drop you a message today on in the morning.

  4. Hi Steve,

I saw that bull early in my first week there and filmed him at long range with the 300mmF4. Like the others, I have no idea what number this bull formerly was. Whatever the case, it is a stunning photo. I agree, we will see what Buckwheat thinks about this bulls ID.

  5. I spoke with Buckwheat today. He thinks that this is #47.

  6. Thanks for checking. I believe I might have seen #47 two years ago. At that time, he still had some yellow on his collar, but it was very close to falling off.
    Great photo!

  7. I just made a post with the photos of the possible #47 that I saw in 2007. On the last photo, I zoomed in on his collar.
If it is the same elk you saw, it's nice to know that he is still alive and well two years later.

  8. Steve,
I think it may be 47 too. I looked at some video clips of 47 from 2006, and it is a strong possibility that this is the same bull although he is much larger now.

  9. So sad to learn of the loss of this great bull. From what I hear, he walked right up to the hunter and was shot. That is very heartless and the coward's way of "hunting." I feel really bad for the loss of him and the amazing 8x9 bull as well.
